Nikola Gruevski

The President of the Government of Republic of Macedonia

NIKOLA GRUEVSKI was elected President of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia on 26th August 2006. He was born on 31th August 1970 in Skopje.

He has been the President of the VMRO-DPMNE since May 2003. Previously he was vice-president of the VMRO-DPMNE. Member of the Parliament since September 2002.

Besides MP, Gruevski is also the President of the Parliamentary Commission for Budget and Finance and a member of the Commission for Cooperation with the European Parliament.
From December 1999 – September 2002 Nikola Gruevski was Minister of Finance in the Macedonian Government. Previously he was Minister without Portfolio and Minister of Economy and a Governor in the World Bank and also worked in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. He was a member of the State Securities and Exchange Commission and a founder and President of the Macedonian Brokers' Association.

He holds B.A. Econ. From the Faculty of Economics at the St. Kliment Ohridski University.
He has also obtained a diploma from the London Institute for Securities and is a postgraduate at the Faculty of Economics at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje .
